Beginner Yoga at Ocala Yoga Center

Are you considering starting a yoga practice? Maybe you already practice yoga on the regular but haven’t quite been able to convince your friends to join you. Well, keep reading and you’ll be gathering information that will persuade even the most stubborn of yoga hold-outs to begin their yoga journey and to take their first steps with us, right here at OYC!

Yoga helps us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The benefits you’ll experience by beginning a yoga practice are nearly countless. Unlike any other exercise, yoga positively impacts every system of the body! Many know that yoga improves our body’s flexibility, but it improves balance and strength. Yoga improves circulation, strengthens bone density, and increases lung capacity. When you begin a regular yoga practice, everyday aches and pains begin to diminish, your vitality increases and sleep is improved. When it comes right down to it, beginning a yoga practice helps you become a happier person, and isn’t that what we all want?

It’s quite clear that yoga is extraordinarily beneficial, and you might have even known some of these positives when you started reading, so what’s stopping you? Before you answer, let me say something that might seem obvious but is still the prominent reason many of us don’t start practicing yoga: “I’m not flexible enough to do yoga.” Oh my, if I had a dollar for every time I heard this excuse! Please, please remember, we practice yoga in order to increase flexibility (or strength, patience, balance, breath control), not because we already have it!

At Ocala Yoga Center, we know starting a yoga practice is an intimidating prospect, so to help all of you beginner yogis, we’ve created a Beginner’s Yoga class with our wonderful and highly experienced teacher Megan! This beginner’s class takes place on Tuesdays at 4:00pm, and you’ll be practicing with other students who are in the same boat as you. It’s a great opportunity to not just learn yoga, but also to make some friends and join a community of friendly and loving people. Once you feel comfortable, check out the schedule for some of our other beginner-friendly classes. All of our teachers at OYC are experienced, knowledgeable and Yoga Alliance Certified: we know what we’re talking about and we’re worthy of your trust!

So that one friend who keeps telling you how great you’ll feel if you go to a yoga class with her? Now you know, she’s right! I’ll see you on the mat!

Jai Bhagwan,
